REDDING HQ - UPEC Business Manager Chris Darker announced today that UPEC Local 792 Members can now contact UPEC Staff faster than ever before.
When calling the union office for services, members will now recieve a prompt and menu to direct them to UPEC Staff. Members can self direct their call to a Labor Relations Representtive, UPEC Administration and more. Calls are sent directly to the selected UPEC Staff office or forwarded to their cell phone. "Our goal is to streamline the calls directly to the person the member wants to speak with without having to wait on hold or go through a gate keeper", said Darker. Labor Relations Representatives spend about 90% of their time in the field and can receive cell phone calls, texts and email from the members throughout the day and evening hours.
UPEC has always provided member rights cards that have the cell phone number of the Representatives so this just adds another level of service that is available 24/7 for members. "We have a lot of members who work weekends and shifts and before this new update if the member did not have a Representatives cell number they would have to wait for the office to open to get in contact with someone", said Darker.
"I believe this is the fastest way for members to access their Union Staff today. We are always looking for new technology and ways to deliver services to our members and I believe the members will be pleased with the changes in the telephone system" said Darker.
