2011_8_25 - Negotiation Meeting with County

UPEC staff and 028 negotiation team members met with the County Labor Relations team Thurs Aug 25th.

Housekeeping tasks:
-Make sure UPEC had all the 71-J documentation
-Documentation on the Proposed Tier 4 Retirement Plan Schedule

-UPEC presented the County with example documentation about a Retiree Medical Trust Plan (http://www.porac.org/docs/RMTFAQ.pdf).  This was from a request by the County for information.
-Note: this is only an example, NOT a proposed plan

-The County presented UPEC with a revision of the section that deals with Standby assignments, Call back, and Call-ins
Discussion was held on section c (position of negotiation team is minimum 2 hours OT should also be for non-standby work even if employee is able to do the work from home).  County taking discussion back to managers for clarification.

-UPEC/028 then presented the County with our counter proposal to their proposed contract, Article 1-5.

Meeting with the County wrapped up early and permission was given to the employees to stay until 1130.  Discussion was held on Article 6 of the County’s proposed contract and a rewritten Article 6 will be emailed out when available.

Scheduled a negotiation team meeting, everyone invited, to proceed with discussion on the remaining Articles of the County’s proposed contract.  Meeting to be held August 31st, 530pm at the Keifer Blvd location.
Next scheduled meeting with the County is the 8st of Sept.
