UPEC to meet with John Burton

PRESIDIO - UPEC Business Manager Chris Darker and UPEC Negotiator Steve Allen will meet with former Senator John Burton next Monday in San Francisco. Allen, Chief Negotiator for the Presidio Trust Employees, confirmed their meeting this afternoon while meeting with employees on the Presidio. LIUNA has retained Burton as a political advocate to assist Local 792 pursue a political solution to the bargaining deadlock at the Presidio Trust. UPEC Local 792 was asked to represent the Presidio Trust employees about 6 months ago. “We have met with Presidio management several times. It is clear to us that management has avoided coming to an agreement in the past and that is something we won’t tolerate. We will do whatever it takes to get an agreement that includes job security”, stated Darker.  Allen and Darker will continue to meet with Presidio Trust employees one on one through February 27th.

Court Supervisors Vote UPEC

REDDING - Shasta Superior Court Supervisors met Tuesday, February 19th and voted unanimously to join UPEC, Local 792. The ten Supervisors had previously belonged to the Shasta County Employees Association (SCEA). This election brings Local 792 to 68 represented bargaining units. Court Supervisors will be meeting soon for bargaining preparation as their contract expires April 2008. UPEC represents court employees in 6 Northern California Counties.

Shasta Bargaining Issues in Forums

For all Shasta General Unit Members:  This is a reminder that you will find discussions on bargaining issues in our Forums Section online.  If you are interested in participating in those discussions you must obtain a website account (register).  Alternatively, decisions about bargaining issues are made by members in attendance at the scheduled bargaining meetings.  Check our online calendar for the dates and times of your meetings.
