CIty of Capitola Employees and Council Ratify New MOU
Monday, December 06, 2010
The Employees of the City of Capitola and the City have ratified a successor MOU with a term extending to June 30, 2012. The new agreement provides for an increase in the employer contribution for medical premiums and a January 1, 2012 salary increase tied to economic performance as measured by the San Francisco - Oakland - San Jose “All Urban Consumers” Price Index averaged over six reporting periods from December 2010 through October 2011.
The agreement also provides for tighter control over vacation leave balance accrual to avoid unduly large payouts of leave balances when an employee separates from employment. Instead, employees receive a cash payout of excess leave above 360 hours on May 1 annually if that leave was unable to be used during the year. Employees will be able to download a copy of the new MOU from our website downloads section as soon as a final version is drafted for signatures and posted online.
