Motion for Default Judgement Filed Against SRMC

SAN FRANCISCO -The National Labor Relations Board Region 20 filed a Motion for Default Judgement against the former owners of Shasta Regional Medical Center (SRMC) for an Unfair Labor Practice charge (ULP) on June 9, 2009. The former owners have not responded to the NLRB case filed by UPEC in December 2008. UPEC petitioned the NLRB on behalf of all UPEC represented employees at SRMC that employees be paid their severance pay and benefits they should have received on October 31, 2008 when Prime Healthcare took over the hospital on November 1, 2008. as agreed in the Union contract and/or SRMC Policies.
The hearing scheduled for next Monday, June 15, 2009 has been postponed until July 28, 2009.
