PERKS Trial Program Sunsets

HEADQUARTERS - The Local completed the three (3) year trial on the PERKS Card Program. The program started in April 2008 has not had the participation the local Executive Board had hoped for. The Local purchased 3,500 cards and less than 20% of the members participated. The Executive Board concluded that the lack of participation in the program was not worth the cost and have cancelled the program. Business Manager Chris Darker said if the local could purchase less cards the program could be reconsidered. “It appears the majority of our members were not interested in the program and/or felt the program was not worth their time. It’s hard to justify the expenditure beyond our original commitment”, said Darker.
