Union Members Fill the Seats at City Council

Tuesday, February 02, 2010

REDDING - Union Representatives and Members filled the seats at the Redding City Council Meeting tonight to again address the proposed advisory ballots. The City Council wants the citizens to weigh in on a vote in June on whether City employees should pay their PERS and Reduce retiree medical. Unions have appeared numerous times since October stating these ballot measurers are a waste of taxpayer money. It is estimated these measurers will cost the City $30,000.00. Union officials are not happy that the City plans to spend concession money on a useless ballot initiative.
