Tuesday, October 02, 2007

The UPEC Executive Board and members of Staff will meet with members in Weaverville on Saturday, October 13th beginning at 10:00am at the Weaverville Library. The meeting is informal and designed to give members an opportunity to meet members of the Executive Board and Staff and to communicate their needs and issues. The Board and Staff will provide updates and answer questions. The Executive Board represents members from nine Northern California Counties as well as members in the healthcare and federal sector’s. Business Manager Chris Darker said the Board recognizes that members can’t always make it to the quarterly member meetings in Redding and decided to take the Board to the member’s. The Board has established “Regional Meetings” to facilitate meeting with members where they live and work. The Board recently traveled to Alturas to meet with members in the Modoc Region. Future Regional Meetings are planned in Willows and Susanville. The Board plans to hold three Regional Meetings each year in addition to the four quarterly meetings in Redding.
